Is the rainy season over yet?
Please say yes.
The calendar always says the rainy season is in June. But last year was the first time rainy season was “officially” over in June. Usually, it lasts until mid-July.
I HATE rain, So, an early finish sounds great to me.
In America, we don’t have much of a rainy season at all. We have an old expression “April showers bring May flowers.” We say this because the warming weather in spring brings a lot of rain in April, but that helps the flowers grow in May. However, we say April showers because “showers” is a short period of rain.
Many April days begin with sunshine, but it gets cloudy at lunch time. Then we get a two-hour shower in the afternoon, but it’s clear again by nighttime. So, it’s different from the rainy season in Japan.
Here, it sometimes rains for three days with no breaks. It’s not a hard rain, but it never stops and makes me so tired.
Also, it’s so difficult to do laundry at home and it’s so difficult to ride my bicycle around the city.
it’s also so annoying to have to put on and take off all my rain gear several times a day.
I just hate rain.
So please tell me the rainy season is over!
